Sa’dan River or
Saddang River is one of the longest rivers in South Sulawesi, flowing a
distance of 182 km and measures 80m at its widest point, which split Toraja
into two part. Saddang river is the lifeblood of the people of Toraja as it
irrigates the surrounding fertile ricefields and provides water for both humans
and cattle in this largely agriculture land.
The rafting challenge
in Saddang River offers the range from grade 3 to grade 5. It could take two
days to raft the entire rivers. Along the route the river sometimes moves
slowly over flat terrains, creating an unshakeable attraction to white water
rafting aficionados.
