The Gilis consist
three islands; Gili Terawangan, Gili Meno, and Gili Air. Gili Terawangan is the
largest and most popular of the three islands. It has a vibrant nightlife to
keep you entertained once the sun goes down. You can find a wide collection of
bars and restaurants along this island, you will never be short of
entertainment here.
The Gili Islands are
easy to reached by speedboat from Senggigi, only 20 minutes boat rides. Travel
on the islnds are only by bike or ‘Cidomo’ the small horse-drawn carts taking 3
person per ride. No motorized vehicles are allowed here.
Activity
Underwater life in
this three gilis makes snorkel and diving the best activity to enjoy. They have
the same kind of coral as in Caribbean Sea. Try your best chance to see turtles
in Gili Meno.
Snorkel and diving
equipment can be rented at any of diving spots nearby or on the beach itself.
Relax on the beach and soak up some rays in the tropical island would be your
best choice to throw all your problems behind. Dance up a storm at a full moon
party which are held on the southern part of Gili Terawangan.
Get There
All three Gilis are easily
to reach by speed boat. You can rent the speed boat from Senggigi for 8-10 passengers.
The other choice is to be in the boat passengers from Bangsal Harbour together
with local people and their stuffs.
There are also regular
fast ferries from Bali to Gili Terawangan, departed from Padang Bai harbor.
