Tanjung Bira Beach – South Sulawesi

The beach in Tanjung Bira is absolutely undoubted. It is clean, neat and well managed, one of tourist destination in south part of Sulawesi. It lies in the district of Bulukumba which is known as Butta Panrita Lopi or ‘the land of the phinisi schooners’ for its long tradition in building these majestic crafts, the pride of the Bugis people. Along the way to Tanjung Bira you will see tens of dry-docks where phinisi schooners are constructed.

How to get there

Tanjung Bira beach is about 200km from Makassar, the capital city of South Sulawesi. To get to this place you can drive a rented car, taxis or simply enjoy the trip with public transportation with only 3-4 hours trip.
